Hi everyone!
It's been an incredibly hectic January!
Jizos by the dozens, the busiest January by far over the last 7 years! YAY! Writing for the Ledgerkeepers book, the podcast and Bewilder and Pine "atlas" all going SO well. Sadly, my old faithful Mac mini died but luckily the hard drive was able to be saved and I did not have to go to a Genius Bar (ugh) at a Mac store to have it done as there was a place her in our little town with a few geniuses of their own! (Thanks Evan!) Got the new Mac mini a few days later via overnight delivery and am back at it again.
To all my lovely blog friends, I miss coming by your blogs and I promise I will be by this week to catch up. I
I am also less than three weeks out from my cross country Amtrak train excursion to visit mom and looking forward to three days of intensive writing and editing each way bookending the 8 days in the middle spent at the family home with all the old fat spirits, childhood ghosts and voices of the past. Always seems to be an inspiring trip for me. . . and always aware that it may be the last.
More on all of that in the weeks to follow but for now, just my selection of new work from January. It's heavy on the Shadow of the Sphinx side as I was inundated with custom requests there all month long. :)

Oh my goodness! That little groundhog nest is so amazing... and I am sure since it is probably unexpected to most buyers that they enjoy it even more!!!! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am excited for you on your trip to come. A train ride alone to write still sounds like heaven to me!
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrea! I am really looking forward to it. I imagine I will barely want to leave my little tiny room to stretch my legs or get meals but it will be great. I am not nearly where I wanted to be with the stories yet so I have a few weeks of intense writing before I go too. I hope to start sharing some of it when I return or soon after. :)

ReplyDeleteHi Stacy! Yes. . . a little TOO busy! lol Whew! This month should be crazy too with the trip and then hopefully spring can be a little more chill. :) I LOVE your new work and I hope that a tiny bit of Spring arrives early there for you in the coming weeks as well.

DeleteSounds like a fully fledged awesome way to kick off the year, you have swung into it on a trapeze! May I borrow some of this energy? :) Love the sound of this up and coming trip, reflection always has its way with you whether you like it / see it coming / or not. And I think it always comes out to be a good thing. Beautiful creations as always!

Yes, I expect, as all my trips home in the last 20 years have done, it will bring up a lot, refresh many memories and inspire all sorts of things to ponder for the days to come. I think I will have to fight the urge to stay in my little hobbity room on the train and do nothing but write. I hear they will even bring your meals to your room for you! lol :)

lol, the burrow remains one of my favorite packaging ideas! I have wanted to make a whole line of borrowed critters but of course, until I learn to stop time or find a Tardis, I am going to have to just deal with it being a slow process.
DeleteOh, the podcast is in the works Nichola. Still in the early stages of writing the first season/six episodes. It's probably more realistic to think of it for 2018 given all I have to put together for it and that I want to finish my book(s) first.

Thank you Serena! You are soooo right. The NEW computer is always better once the stress of being without or having to learn new ways of working wears off! :) I opted for the same one I had, just new, so the learning curve is not so great. . . though a new Photoshop version has required some getting used to but it's all worth it.

Nicolas, your fairy towers are amazing and would ahve been an excellent addition to the latest Scribble Picnic! I was reading your lovely comment to Alexandra so had to go check out your work as she said it was so detailed and amazing. Thank you. Great stuff.
